House MD

House (or House M.D.) was a TV show from the mid 00's through the early 2010's, starring Hugh Laurie and an excellent cast of characters. Every episode presented a medical mystery or two, while a longer arching plot slowly developed over the years.

I enjoyed these tremendously in the first three-four seasons, and then my interest waned along with my time availability. When I first discovered the show, I'd go and buy the season DVD sets - which was about the only way to reliably get all of them, excepting perhaps some sort of piracy.

Now that Hulu is available through Disney+, I decided to give the shows a go. I despise the ads but I've been reluctant to upgrade my subscription. Turns out I still find the show very enjoyable.

One good companion to the show are the medical reviews by polite dissent. The reviews are no longer available, but the wayback machine still has them available. Not being a medical professional or even any sort of dilettante, I'm of course a lot less picky about the medical details, but I still find the characters, settings and cases fun to watch.

After a number of year / seasons, it does of course get somewhat formulaic, but there are enough twists and turns to keep you going for a long time.

Happy mystery solving!
