I finished The Witcher a few days ago, and I must say I really enjoyed it. As far as I can tell, everyone else who has watched it has really liked it, too.
People who generally don't like fantasy have stayed away, which makes sense.
I've been turning to critics less and less over time, however. Maybe I haven't found one whose tastes reflect my own.
But more importantly, I think, is that the best movie reviews I've read have provided a new perspective or a new connection I hadn't considered before, and I haven't found a lot of that lately. Instead, it's been people providing an opinion, which at the end of the day is as good as mine.
So, here I go. If you like fantasy, watch The Witcher! Great characters, action, setting, sure, but more importantly, I think you'll enjoy it.
