These last few days, as the weather turns firmly to fall, I've come to renew my appreciation for sunsets in the Pacific Northwest.
See, at about this time of the year, as I leave work and drive west, I get to see every day a different sunset, and lately they've all been quite beautiful.
A great feature of the geography near Lake Washington is that we have a couple of large bodies of water, which make for nice mirror of whatever the sky is looking like, and even though there is often some amount of cloud cover, the sun setting over the ocean often peeks through. So we get this beautiful light coming just over the horizon, painting clouds and buildings and the top of trees.
It's no coincidence that reddit is so in love with shots of the mountains and lakes in the area - it really is a beautiful place. The turn of the season just makes it easier to remember that.
Dear reader, may you recognize and enjoy the beauty the world has to offer!
